In FY23-24 Georgia Public Broadcasting was given a 1.4 million dollar budget reduction from the state. Unfortunately, one of their most popular broadcasts- Football Fridays, was partially affected. The decision was made to cut the 30-minute talk show in between the original live stream and the re-run of each game. Fortunately for me, however, this opened up an opportunity to fill our audience in with all the incredible things GPB has been doing outside of Georgia’s Sports! Beyond the Goalpost features all pre-recorded segments from the Education department’s most popular programs and I was asked to host! I also came up with the name, wrote the scripts and associate-produced this project within a month’s turnaround time!
